A smooth and decadent mousse combining almond butter and cottage cheese plus other healthy wholefood ingredients for a high-protein, creamy dessert. It just melts in your mouth with its velvety texture. Plus, it can be whipped up quickly with just 4 ingredients that you probably already have on hand!

It is so yummy and rich you would have no idea that the main ingredient is cottage cheese! It’s perfect for a quick snack or treat when that sweet tooth kicks in.

If you haven’t hopped on the viral cottage cheese trend yet, I don’t blame you, because I was sceptical at first too. But now that I’ve tried so many recipes, both sweet AND savoury, with cottage cheese being the main ingredient… I’m such a fan!

High-quality dairy is such a great, balanced food because it’s high in protein and fats to help keep you fuller for longer. Cottage cheese is one of my favorite ways to add more protein into my diet which helps support hormone health, blood sugar, muscle growth, and SO much more!

The world of desserts and sweets is constantly evolving, with new trends and flavors being introduced every day. One such trend that has been making waves in recent times is the cottage cheese trend. I have to admit – I was completely sceptical of the viral cottage cheese ice cream  and mousse trend. As a fitness professional, I have seen SO many “healthy” food trends come and go, and honestly, a lot just kind of fall flat.

But I decided to give it a try, and holy moly – I was so impressed! The cottage cheese gives the mousse such creaminess, and gives a subtle cheesecake flavor, too. Plus it adds protein! It is amazing! Literally amazing. This weird cottage cheese concoction is actually not weird at all. I can tell you for certain that this high protein treat is better than any of those healthy or low calorie puddings you can find at the grocery store.

With a deliciously rich flavor, creamy consistency, and thick texture … this homemade dessert looks, feels, and tastes like the real deal. I promise you … it is SO GOOD! And no … you can’t taste the cheese one bit.

The Importance Of Eating Enough Protein

This recipe is a higher protein, sugar free and healthy mousse, made with all clean ingredients. The idea was to improve the macro balance (protein, carbohydrate, healthy fats). This is not about calorie counting: It’s about paying attention to key nutrients and taking in the daily recommended portion your body needs to maintain your energy levels and overall wellbeing.

We may wonder what are the reasons why proteins are important in a healthy balanced diet. Eating high-protein foods has many health and fitness benefits, including:

Speeding recovery after exercise and/or injury

Reducing muscle loss

Building lean muscle

Helping maintain a healthy weight

Curbing hunger

A well-balanced diet with proper ratios of macro nutrients (protein, healthy carbs and fats) provides all of the: energy you need to keep active throughout the day. nutrients you need for growth and repair, helping you to stay strong and healthy and help to prevent diet-related illness.

When you find your optimal balance and amounts of macro nutrients, you take a major step toward reaching your health goals and this balance has been improved in this by the addition of healthy protein.

So to this end, cottage cheese is really good for you. Not only is it full of protein and packed with nutrients, but it is low in calories. About 80% of the protein in cottage cheese is casein, which is slowly absorbed by your body, and is ideally consumed before sleep for muscle synthesis.

To harness the true power of cottage cheese, you need to whip it. This goes especially for people – who believe they don’t like cottage cheese and I think the issue is related to texture. But when you give cottage cheese a trip through the blender, the textural conundrum goes away. All you are left with is a creamy, airy mousse like treat.

In conclusion, the cottage cheese in everything trend is taking the world by storm. With its creamy texture, tangy flavor, and nutritional aspects it is no wonder that this ingredient is becoming a favorite among foodies and fitness enthusiasts everywhere. This recipe is simply a must make!
