Chocolate and orange are one of those timeless flavour combinations that never lose their appeal. The rich, velvety taste of chocolate paired with the bright, citrusy freshness of orange creates a dessert that feels both comforting and refreshing. These Chocolate Orange Protein Bars capture that classic pairing in a wholesome, no-bake snack that is as nourishing as it is delicious.
With a chewy base made from oats, nuts and protein powder, topped with a smooth layer of dark chocolate and a hint of fresh orange zest, these bars are perfect for satisfying your sweet cravings while giving your body quality nutrition.
At Blended Bites, we believe healthy treats should never taste like a compromise. They should be recipes you genuinely look forward to eating – whether it is as a post-workout snack, an afternoon pick-me-up or a healthier dessert after dinner. These bars deliver on every level.
Why You Will Love These Bars
The first thing you will notice is the texture. The oat and nut base is soft, chewy and satisfying, while the chocolate topping adds a delicious snap with every bite. The fresh orange zest and juice brighten the rich chocolate flavour, creating the perfect balance of sweetness and citrus.
Because they are completely no-bake, they are also wonderfully easy to make. Simply blend, mix, press into a pan and chill. The hardest part is waiting for them to set! These bars are freezer-friendly too, so you can always have a batch ready whenever you need a wholesome snack.
The Blended Bites Philosophy
Healthy eating doesn’t have to mean giving up your favourite flavours. In fact, one of the easiest ways to build lasting healthy habits is by recreating classic desserts using ingredients that nourish your body.
That is the heart of Addition Eating.
Instead of focusing on foods to avoid, we focus on adding ingredients that support energy, fullness and overall wellbeing.
Protein keeps you satisfied.
Healthy fats provide lasting fuel.
Whole grains and nuts add fibre and important nutrients.
The result is a snack that feels indulgent while helping you stay energized throughout the day.
Protein Power in Every Bite
Protein is what transforms these bars from a simple treat into a satisfying snack.
Including protein powder helps support muscle recovery, slows digestion and helps keep hunger at bay. Combined with fibre-rich oats and healthy fats from the nuts, these bars provide steady energy instead of the quick sugar rush that many processed snack bars deliver. Vanilla protein powder allows the chocolate and orange flavours to shine, while chocolate protein powder creates an even richer, dessert-like result.
Both options work beautifully.
Oats and Nuts: A Winning Combination
Oats are one of our favourite pantry staples. They are naturally rich in fibre, wonderfully filling and create the perfect chewy texture in no-bake bars. Pair them with almonds or cashews, and you get a creamy, slightly nutty base that’s both hearty and delicious. The nuts also contribute healthy fats, magnesium and plant-based nutrients that make these bars even more satisfying. Blending the oats and nuts together creates a texture that’s sturdy enough to slice neatly while still remaining soft and fudgy.
Chocolate and Orange: Made for Each Other
There is something magical about the combination of dark chocolate and fresh orange. The natural oils in orange zest intensify the citrus flavour, while a splash of freshly squeezed orange juice adds brightness to the base.
The chocolate topping ties everything together, creating a rich finish that makes these bars taste like a gourmet dessert. For an extra-special touch, sprinkle additional orange zest over the melted chocolate before it sets or garnish with finely chopped pistachios for a beautiful pop of colour.
Perfect for Busy Days
These bars are made for meal prep. Prepare one batch at the beginning of the week and you will have healthy snacks ready whenever hunger strikes. They are ideal for lunchboxes, office snacks, post-workout recovery or a healthier dessert with your evening cup of tea.
Unlike many packaged snack bars, these are made with simple ingredients you can recognize and pronounce.
Real food.
Real flavour.
Real satisfaction.
