Creamy, Crunchy & Better Than Candy (Blended Bites Style)
If you have been anywhere near social media lately, you have probably seen frozen fruit/protein clusters having a major moment. And honestly? We completely understand why. They are creamy, fruity, chocolate-coated, and incredibly satisfying.
These Frozen Blueberry Protein Clusters take the viral trend and give it the Blended Bites treatment by adding protein, chia seeds, and plenty of nourishing ingredients. The result is a snack that tastes like blueberry cheesecake bites dipped in white chocolate – but with a nutritional profile your body will appreciate.
They are refreshing, naturally sweet, packed with texture, and surprisingly easy to make.
At Blended Bites, we are big believers that healthy snacks should be every bit as exciting as traditional desserts. That is exactly why these clusters are such a winner. They combine juicy blueberries, crunchy chia seeds, and smooth white chocolate into one irresistible bite.
The blueberries are the stars of the show. Bursting with natural sweetness and beautiful colour, they bring a bright, fruity flavour that pairs perfectly with the creamy yogurt base. Every cluster contains little pockets of juicy blueberry goodness that make each bite taste fresh and vibrant.
Then there are the chia seeds. While they may be tiny, chia seeds play an important role in this recipe. They help absorb moisture from the blueberry jam mixture, creating a thicker texture that’s easier to scoop and freeze. They also contribute fibre, healthy fats, and a little extra texture.
The addition of protein powder transforms these clusters from a simple frozen treat into a balanced snack that can help support satiety and stable energy levels. Protein helps keep you fuller for longer and makes these clusters far more satisfying than standard frozen sweets.
And in true Blended Bites style, this recipe focuses on adding goodness rather than taking things away. You are not giving up sweet treats. You are creating versions that combine indulgent flavours with ingredients that nourish your body.
One of the best things about these clusters is the incredible texture contrast. The blueberries add juicy bursts of flavour, and the white chocolate shell provides that satisfying snap when you bite into it.
It’s the kind of snack that feels far more indulgent than it actually is.
These clusters are also ideal for meal prep. Make a batch and keep them in the freezer for those moments when cravings hit. Because they are already portioned into bite-sized pieces, they are easy to grab whenever you need a quick snack or healthy dessert.
And if you are anything like us, you will probably find yourself reaching for them more often than expected.
The best part? This recipe is endlessly adaptable.

Frozen Blueberry Protein Clusters
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh or frozen (thawed) blueberries
- 1 scoop vanilla or berry protein powder
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
White Chocolate Coating
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
Optional Toppings
- Freeze-dried blueberry powder
- Crushed almonds
- Coconut flakes
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.Add the blueberries to a bowl. Add the protein powder, chia seeds, maple syrup and vanilla. Use a fork to mash together until the mixture resembles a very thick jam (that you can mold into separate circle mounds). Drop a large spoonful (about 2 tablespoons full or bigger) of jam onto the parchment paper in an even circular mound/shape (6-8). Place the baking sheet in the freezer and freeze for 1-2 hours, or until hardened and set.
White Chocolate Coating
- Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in small dish and microwave with 20 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.Working quickly, using two forks, dip one cluster at a time into the bowl of melted chocolate until it is fully coated. Lift the cluster from the bowl of chocolate and let any excess drip off, then place it onto a tray lined with baking paper. Repeat with the remaining clusters.Or hold each one with a fork over the melted chocolate and spoon it over letting the excess drip back into the bowl. Repeat with remaining clusters. Place the baking sheet in the freezer again for another 10 minutes or until set.Serve and enjoy (you may have to thaw for 1-2 minutes if the clusters are too hard). Store in freezer for up to 1 month.
