Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars

If chocolate and peanut butter are your idea of the perfect flavor combination, these Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars are going to disappear quickly. With a soft, wholesome base made from oats and almond flour, a creamy peanut butter layer, and a rich melted chocolate topping, they taste wonderfully indulgent while delivering a satisfying boost of protein.

This is exactly the kind of treat we love at Blended Bites: simple ingredients, no complicated techniques, and plenty of flavor. You do not need to give up chocolate to eat well. Instead, we are adding nourishing ingredients that help turn a classic sweet treat into something that can fit beautifully into your everyday routine.

A Better Kind of Chocolate Bar

These bars have three delicious layers, and each one brings something special.

The base layer combines rolled oats and almond flour with protein powder, nut butter, and a little natural sweetener. The oats provide texture and fiber, while almond flour gives the base a soft, slightly nutty flavor. Protein powder adds an extra nutritional boost and helps make these bars more satisfying than an ordinary chocolate slice.

Then comes the star of the show: the peanut butter layer.

A simple combination of creamy peanut butter and melted coconut oil creates a smooth, rich layer that firms up beautifully when chilled. It is naturally nutty, slightly salty, and provides that unmistakable peanut butter flavor that pairs so perfectly with chocolate.

Finally, everything is finished with a generous layer of melted chocolate.

When chilled, the chocolate sets into a deliciously firm topping that cracks slightly when you bite into it, giving you that wonderful contrast between creamy peanut butter, soft oat base, and crisp chocolate.

Why Add Protein?

At Blended Bites, we love adding protein to treats because it helps make them more satisfying.

Protein is an important nutrient for maintaining and repairing muscle tissue, and it also contributes to feelings of fullness. Adding protein powder to these bars means you are getting more than just a sweet bite – they are designed to provide a little more staying power.

Combined with the healthy fats from peanut butter and almond flour and the carbohydrates from oats, these bars make a satisfying snack when you need something sweet but substantial.

No Baking Required

And here is another reason to love them: you do not need to turn on the oven. Simply mix the base ingredients, press them into a pan, spread over the peanut butter layer, and finish with melted chocolate. A little time in the refrigerator does all the hard work for you.

That makes these bars particularly handy during warmer weather or whenever you want a homemade treat without spending time in the kitchen.

They are also perfect for meal prep. Make a batch at the beginning of the week, slice them into individual portions, and keep them in the refrigerator for an easy grab-and-go snack.

Make Them Your Own

This recipe is wonderfully adaptable. Use peanut butter for the classic combination, or swap it for almond or cashew butter if that is what you have available.

You can also sprinkle chopped peanuts, cacao nibs, shredded coconut, or a little flaky sea salt over the chocolate before it sets.

For an extra chocolatey experience, use chocolate protein powder in the base instead of vanilla.

However you customize them, these Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars prove once again that healthy doesn’t have to mean boring. They are rich, creamy, chocolatey, peanut-buttery and satisfying – the kind of treat you will genuinely look forward to. 🤎

I love that making your own protein bars is an incredibly cost-effective, healthy, and highly customizable alternative to buying pre-packaged snacks. The easiest and most popular method is making no-bake protein bars, which takes about 10 minutes of prep time using basic pantry staples. These bars typically cost under a dollar each to make and pack between 12 and 15 grams of protein per serving. Check out these popular recipes:
