Yogurt Bowl With Date Caramel

Spread the love

This recipe is my latest obsession at the moment. Not only is it the most incredible snack, it is also a killer breakfast or dessert too. Imagine the combination of creamy and nutty peanut butter swirled into yogurt and then mixed with plump and juicy berries, topped with the most delicious sweet date caramel, hiding under a layer of rich and intense dark chocolate. Oh my!

This Yogurt Bowl is perfect when you need a filling, healthy breakfast idea in 5 minutes flat. I am definitely a yogurt girl so I could eat this for breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner all day, every day!  I am a huge lover of plain yogurt and like to naturally sweeten it with honey, nut/seed butter and berries.

We are big fans of yogurt in this house.  It’s our go-to weekday breakfast routine.  When we want to feel extra fancy, we dress it up like this recipe for a meal in a bowl. Packed with fiber, protein, and fats, this recipe will give you great staying power!

Why You Will Love This Yogurt Bowl

A Yogurt Bowl is a great way to pack in a lot of nutrients quickly, and deliciously. It not only tastes delicious it LOOKS delicious: with beautiful colors and textures.

It might sound strange but I love the combination of peanut butter and yogurt. It kind of shouldn’t work but it does and when I want a high protein snack, this is what I tend to go for.

Recently I have been taking this one step further with this homemade Date Caramel (recipe below in notes) which has been my hyper fixation snack. I’ve had it every day for the last few months and I’m not bored of it yet!

The date caramel is so easy and once you have made some it can sit happily in the fridge for a week or so meaning this snack actually comes together very quickly. If you want to leave out the date caramel it still works! Peanut butter yogurt, raspberries and magic shell chocolate topping is always a killer combo.

But trust me on this one…the date caramel is well worth making as it takes so many other dishes up a few levels of deliciousness.

This power bowl recipe, packed with good stuff makes for an ideal breakfast to fuel a long day, or a satisfying post-workout recovery meal for any time!

So Good Healthy Date Caramel
Easy, 3-ingredient caramel made with creamy puréed dates, coconut cream with a touch of vanilla extract for a healthy alternative to caramel made with sugar and dairy.
Date caramel is extremely versatile and can be used in a number of different ways. The recipe is so easy, softened dates blitzed together with coconut cream and a dash of vanilla - so simple but, oh my goodness, it’s so good.
Dates are considered super healthy because they are packed with nutrients, including fiber, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor plant compounds. In addition, they are low on the glycemic index (don’t spike blood sugar) and support bone and brain health.
A versatile, naturally sweetened, raw caramel perfect for adding caramel flavor to a variety of dishes. You do need to keep a jar of this deliciousness in your fridge so you can add a dollop to EVERYTHING!
