Date & Tahini Brownie Protein Bites

Another chocolatey recipe. I know, I know! But how you can you resist something that is so darn delicious?  Currently, I am obsessed with these Date & Tahini Brownie Bites! I have made several batches in the last couple of weeks. They have become my go-to snack and I know you will love them as much as I do!

These are fudgy and rich – perfect for a quick dessert. They are made with tahini (sesame seed paste) almond flour, sweetened with dates and are completely no bake and refined sugar free. This recipe is gluten free and paleo friendly. They really have it all – the luscious fudgy texture, the intense chocolate flavour and they are easy to make!

These no bake brownie bites are mixed in a single bowl, pressed into a mold or cupcake pan, and ready after only 15 minutes in the refrigerator. If you love brownies, and if you have never tried the combination of chocolate and tahini, you are in for a real treat!

I’ve been combining chocolate and tahini for ages. It’s definitely one of my favorite combinations. Yet every time I post a recipe that includes tahini I still get asked the question ‘what is tahini’? It surprises me because it seems to me that tahini is now everywhere.

So many people on social media use it in both sweet and savoury recipes. It’s become somewhat of a trendy ingredient. That part doesn’t surprise me at all – I have been singing its praises for years. I add it to so many of my recipes – it’s by far one of my all-time favourite foodie ingredients to use, especially in desserts.

Tahini,  one of the main ingredients in this recipe, is pure sesame seed paste, which adds a slightly bitter, nutty flavor. Combined with the sweetness of the dates mixing these together allows the brownie to harden up in the freezer, becoming a chewier texture that you can enjoy as dessert!

You can make these treats as big or as small as you like. I sometimes use a silicon mould to make mini bites or you can use paper cupcake cases in a regular size cupcake tin. This option will give you 8 large cups or 12 mini cups.

These tahini cups are quite rich so the smaller version is perfect for a serving. But either way they are delish! I have probably said this about a million times before and I don’t think I will ever stop saying it – tahini and dates are the best dessert combination EVER!

You will love the toasty tahini flavor and the chocolate fudge filling. With just a small handful of ingredients, these freezer healthy brownies are an easy treat or snack, to keep stashed away for …well, any reason!

It’s a wonderful thing that healthy fats have become popular with the keto movement. No longer is eating a mouthful of fatty goodness frowned upon. After decades of playing the villain, humans once again embraced healthy, real food fats.

Incredibly healthy foods with fats like tahini feature in these delicious small but mighty treats. No baking or cooking needed, made with wholesome ingredients and so darn simple to make.

Whip up a batch, freeze to harden and they will be ready for you at a moment’s notice. Whether it’s for a pre- or post-workout energy boost, breakfast on-the-go, or to satisfy that 3 o’clock snack craving, these brownies are the golden ticket.

If I had to pick a favorite type of dessert, it would definitely be something no-bake and made with chocolate. And these tahini brownie bites are up there on my list of favorites. They are fudgy and rich, made with tahini and chocolate (the best combo) and come together in minutes.

As already mentioned, these protein cups are sweetened with dates. Dates are a super fruit! They are a great source of nutrients and vitamins such as potassium, magnesium, vitamins B6 and K, calcium and iron, which contribute to various health benefits. They also provide a natural energy boost and are low on the glycemic index so your blood sugar won’t spike when eating them.

I love to use dates as a base in most of my snack balls, no-bake bars, or if I need a natural sweetener in a cookie or frosting. They are little morsels of natural sugar and a great alternative to refined sugars. You don’t need many dates to make something sweet!

These rich and chewy Date & Tahini Brownie Bites are a healthy way to satisfy your sweet tooth. They really are the perfect no fuss, easy and delicious treat! So if you are looking for a quick and easy recipe using healthier ingredients but want something that still tastes absolutely delish, you need to give these date and tahini brownie protein cups a try.
