If you have ever thought to yourself, “What do I do with frozen fruit besides making a smoothie?”, then this frozen fruit dessert is for you! These Cherry Yogurt Protein Bites are a great healthy dessert recipe made with frozen (or fresh) cherries, yogurt and a dash of sweetener.

This little bite combines the sweetness of cherries with the richness of thick Greek-style yogurt. It’s just 5 simple ingredients and doesn’t require any baking. Involve the kids too, and they won’t even know they are eating a totally healthy dessert.

Frozen cherries might not be on your “to buy” list, but they should be! They are naturally sweet and affordable. Plus, they are frozen at the peak of freshness, so they taste delicious all year round! If you have fresh cherries, feel free to use them as well! But I always keep my fridge stocked with frozen fruit, so I can make a smoothie or frozen dessert any time of the year.

How is this different than ice cream? Although you may think a frozen fruit dessert is just ice cream in disguise, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Ice cream usually contains high fat and calorie ingredients, like cream, loads of sugar, egg yolks, and add-ins, like chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc. That’s why ice cream tastes so good, but is also not so good for you. A 2/3 cup serving of ice cream can have more than 300 calories and 20+ grams of fat (not the good kind).

On the other hand, this frozen fruit dessert uses high-protein Greek-style yogurt, which is lower in calories and fat. That means it adds a creamy flavor to the dessert without all the unnecessary calories or saturated fat. Plus, this frozen dessert has whole cherries, which are loaded with inflammation fighting antioxidants and other vitamins and minerals.

These delightful little frozen protein bites are fun to make, delicious to eat, and full of simple and healthy ingredients, and pretty too. Protein packed, no-bake, and perfect to stash in your freezer to grab whenever the craving for a special ‘something’ hits. The beauty of this recipe is that you can add as much (or as little) sweetener as you like, use any fruit and berries that you like to make it in your way and taste.

Whether you are looking for an easy, on-the-go breakfast or an any time sweet snack, or a delicious dessert, these fro-yo cherry bites are the answer. All you need are 4 ingredients (plus your chosen fruit!) to create these bites: plain yogurt, protein powder, honey and vanilla extract.

They come together in only 10 minutes – just make sure to give them plenty of time to chill in the freezer so that they set completely. Make them the night before, then enjoy the easiest breakfast or afternoon snack the next day. I prefer to use plain yogurt – with honey and vanilla for flavor and sweetness—instead of a pre-flavored yogurt to control the sweetness. You can really get creative with your fruit additions.

Most fruit will work well in these bites. You can use a flavored yogurt as the base for more sweetness and flavour. Or you can add some cocoa powder to the yogurt for a chocolate flavoured twist. You can even put a popsicle stick in them to make them easier to eat. Simply cut a normal popsicle stick in half and pop it in each bite before they are fully frozen.

These bad boys will be your new go-to snack for when those sweet cravings hit but you want to keep things health-conscious! These delightful little bites are a perfectly balanced treat. Each bite is a guilt-free indulgence that satisfies your sweet tooth while providing a boost of energy from natural ingredients. Whether you are enjoying them on their own, tossing them into a smoothie, or using them as topping for your morning oatmeal, these healthy cherry yogurt bites are sure to bring a smile to your face.

Your kids will think they are eating dessert, but these cherry bites are way healthier than popsicles or ice cream. Such a fun treat for kids of all ages. Adults love them, too! It’s a recipe so simple that it barely deserves to be called a recipe, but even so, it’s a snack that feels extra special and exceptionally yummy. Look no further for the cold treat or ice cream replacement your entire family will love. It is right here!
