A banana oat smoothie is one that I make for myself several mornings a week for breakfast,and it powers me all the way until lunch. I love the mild sweetness of the banana, but if you want it sweeter you could add honey.
I change it up from time to time and add different flavors like ginger, vanilla, apple or add a handful of greens. Feel free to experiment with different versions, and enjoy the pure energy that comes from eating fresh, good-for-you food!
If you want to save some time, try prepping your smoothie in freezer bags by portioning out the banana and other ingredients. Then when you want to make it, simply add the milk to your blender and add the rest in.
I consider it a dump, blend and run recipe. It's ready in 2 minutes (yes I timed it).  And you can easily double or triple the recipe if you have more mouths to feed! Not to mention it's so thick and creamy it's just like an oatmeal shake!

Ingredients

  • 1 banana, sliced, frozen
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon nut butter of choice
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 scoop protein or collagen powder (optional) 
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a high speed blender, then blend on high until ingredients are well combined and the mixture has a smooth and creamy consistency. 
    Pour into a glass or travel mug, and enjoy!
