Frozen Chocolate-Peanut Butter Banana Cups

Peanut butter, chocolate, bananas…a marriage made in heaven.

I don’t know what it is… but all those components together create something so beautiful, delicious, perfect… so right. Peanuts are chocolate’s best friend.

Somehow they taste better together than chocolate does with any other nut or seed butter. I guess they are soul mates?

If you are craving a mid-afternoon snack or late-night treat, try these homemade banana, chocolate, peanut butter cups. But heed this warning – this super easy, no-bake dessert is dangerously delicious and addictive!

I like them frozen but you can certainly enjoy them from the fridge as well. They are one of my very favorite treats to grab. They are super easy to make and take about 5 minutes of prep time and only have 4 ingredients.

I made some PB cups a few days ago and as always they were amazing (duh) but I had an epiphany. “Why don’t I add banana to this!?” So I did.

So, now we have banana PB chocolate cups and there is nothing not to love about them. They are pretty darn amazing. Bite size lends a hand to the healthy title – which means yes you can have dessert tonight!

Indulgent homemade FROZEN treats! Yassss! Sign me up!

They are best served cold straight from the freezer. The no baking part also means they are a lot faster to make and less fuss. Did I mention they taste freaking amazing and are way healthier than your average treat as they are made with wholesome REAL food ingredients.

The whole family LOVED these little cups; they were gone in under 24 hours. They give off serious Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups vibes but way more healthy and delicious. With only 4 ingredients that you most likely have in your pantry already – these NEED to be made!.

But I have to say….this is another one of those “bet you can’t eat just one” recipes. But you may have more willpower than me!  😊

Decadent yet healthy, these frozen chocolate banana cups will impress guests and make a delicious dessert!

Ingredients

Chocolate Cups

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Banana Peanut Butter Filling

  • 2 bananas, sliced, frozen
  • 1/3 cup peanut (or any other nut or seed) butter

Topping

  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips

Instructions

Chocolate Cups

  • Place 10 paper muffin liners in a 12-hole muffin baking pan or use a silicon muffin tray.
Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil in small dish and microwave at with 20 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.
Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.
Add about 1 teaspoon of melted chocolate to the bottom of each cup and using a silicone brush or back of a spoon brush or push a thin layer of chocolate up the sides of the muffin slots to cover the bottom and part way up the sides. This creates a little cup to hold the filling ingredients.
Put back in muffin pan after lining with chocolate and place in freezer for 10-15 minutes to set.

Banana Peanut Butter Filling

  • Thaw bananas slightly then blend with the peanut butter until smooth.
Remove frozen chocolate cups from freezer but leave in muffin pan. Fill each cup with peanut butter banana filling.
    Sprinkle with additional chocolate chips.
    Freeze until firm (1-2 hours)
Remove from freezer. Peel the paper lining off of each dessert cup to serve.
Keep the chocolate cups frozen until ready to eat, and take them out of the freezer 5 minutes before serving to soften.
Will keep up to 3 months in freezer.
