After seeing recipes like this all over social media, I knew I needed to try it for myself. I love sweet treats, and making them healthy and higher protein to make them more nutritionally balanced is my favorite thing! I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be a delicious and super satisfying high-protein dessert. After a few different versions, I can honestly say that this recipe is one of the best healthy but simple protein snacks I’ve ever had!
If you are you craving a creamy, indulgent dessert but want to keep it healthy and high in protein whether it be for a post-workout snack or a light, indulgent dessert this banana snack for one will satisfy your sweet tooth, without any guilt. All for you, no need for sharing!
Add a swirl of caramel sauce and some chocolate chips to it to make it even better. Every bite of this protein dessert is so good and it’s perfect for making ahead for the week! Just double or triple (or more) the recipe. Made with simple, wholesome ingredients, this recipe also features an ingredient I know you will love…a seemingly wild but delicious ingredient. Its Peanut Butter Powder!
PB powder is made by removing most of the oil from roasted peanuts and grinding them into a fine powder, resulting in a low-fat, high-protein alternative to traditional peanut butter. Try not to think of the PB powder as a diet ingredient. Just think of it as peanuts in another form. In this case, it adds such a depth of flavor without adding all the oily-ness that lots of PB normally brings. I’m obsessed!
The next ingredient we need to talk about is an underrated ingredient that is having a moment on the internet and could be the secret to the creamiest, most satisfying treats. It’s packed with protein, ridiculously versatile, and works in everything from breakfast to dessert. I get it – cottage cheese used to have a reputation for being bland and, well, kinda lumpy. But when you blend it? Game changer. Once its had a trip through the blender its transformed…totally!
This banana snack recipe is smooth, rich, and naturally sweetened, with 20g of protein per serving. It’s got that banana-y peanut buttery goodness you crave, but instead of being heavy and overly sweet, it’s light, fluffy, and actually good for you. Oh, and did I mention it takes 5 minutes to make? Yep, it’s that easy.
Why I love this recipe:

Fun to customize. Turn it into a parfait. Layer the pudding between sheets of chopped nuts or granola and plain yogurt or whipped coconut cream (recipe below in notes).
