If you love chocolate, caramel, and that irresistible combination of creamy and chewy textures, these Chocolate Caramel Protein Patties are going to be a new favourite. Imagine a soft, fudgy chocolate cookie wrapped around a naturally gooey caramel centre, then dipped in melted chocolate. Sounds indulgent, right?
Here is the Blended Bites secret: they are made with nourishing ingredients and a generous boost of protein, so you can enjoy that decadent dessert experience while giving your body something useful too.
These no-bake protein patties are incredibly easy to make. There is no oven, no complicated techniques, and no long list of ingredients. Just mix, shape, fill, dip, and chill.
Why You Will Love These Protein Patties
Traditional chocolate caramel candies are usually made with lots of refined sugar and ingredients that don’t offer much nutritional value. That is where these homemade patties are different.
The chocolate base combines almond flour, cocoa powder, and protein powder to create a soft, brownie-like texture. Nut butter adds healthy fats and richness, while a little natural sweetener brings everything together.
Then comes the caramel centre.
You have two delicious options: a nut butter caramel for an ultra-creamy filling or a date caramel if you want to use the natural sweetness and chewy texture of dates. Both are delicious, and both make these little patties feel wonderfully indulgent.
The final chocolate coating is what takes them over the top. Once chilled, the chocolate becomes firm and creates a satisfying snap before you reach that soft chocolate-and-caramel centre.
The Importance of Protein
Protein isn’t just for athletes. It is an essential nutrient that your body needs every day to support muscle maintenance and repair, and it can also help you feel satisfied between meals.
That is why we love adding protein to snacks and treats. Instead of thinking about foods only in terms of what you need to remove, the Blended Bites approach is about addition – adding nourishing ingredients that make your food work harder for you.
Protein powder makes these patties more satisfying than a conventional chocolate candy while also helping create that delicious soft texture.
So yes, you can have your chocolate and caramel – and add a little more nourishment at the same time!
Two Ways to Make the Caramel
Nut Butter Caramel
For the quickest option, simply combine nut butter with maple syrup and a little coconut oil. It creates a smooth, creamy caramel that is incredibly easy to spread.
Date Caramel
For a naturally sweet version, blend soft Medjool dates with nut butter, vanilla, and a splash of water until smooth and gooey. This version has a delicious chewy caramel flavour and is perfect if you love date-based treats.
Perfect for the Freezer
These patties are ideal for making ahead. Keep them in the refrigerator when you want a softer texture, or store them in the freezer for a firmer, almost candy-bar-like bite.
They are perfect for an afternoon chocolate craving, a post-workout snack, or a little after-dinner treat. And because they are rich and satisfying, you don’t need a huge piece to feel like you have had dessert. 🤎
Healthy caramel relies on whole-food ingredients like Medjool dates, coconut milk, or nut butter blended with sea salt and vanilla. These alternatives swap out refined white sugar and heavy cream for natural fiber, minerals, and healthy fats while mimicking the rich, sticky sweetness of traditional caramel.
