Peanut Butter Banana Cheesecake Protein Balls

There is something about the combination of peanut butter and banana that never goes out of style. It is nostalgic, comforting, naturally sweet, and incredibly satisfying. Add a creamy cheesecake flavour, plenty of protein, and a crisp shell of dark chocolate, and you have got a snack that feels wonderfully indulgent while nourishing your body at the same time.

These Peanut Butter Banana Cheesecake Protein Balls are everything we love at Blended Bites. They are made with wholesome ingredients, require absolutely no baking, and are perfect for keeping in the freezer whenever a healthy treat craving strikes.

The creamy centre tastes remarkably like banana cheesecake thanks to the combination of ripe banana, cream cheese, vanilla, peanut butter and protein powder. Once chilled and coated in rich dark chocolate, every bite delivers a satisfying snap followed by a smooth, creamy filling that is almost impossible to resist.

Why You Will Love These

These little bites prove that healthy treats don’t have to taste “healthy.”

They are naturally satisfying thanks to the combination of protein, healthy fats and fibre, making them much more filling than conventional sweets. Instead of sending your blood sugar on a rollercoaster ride, they provide slow, steady energy that helps keep cravings under control.

They are also incredibly convenient. Make one batch and keep them in the freezer for weeks. Whenever you need an afternoon pick-me-up, post-workout snack or after-dinner dessert, simply grab one or two.

They are portable too, making them perfect for lunchboxes, road trips or busy days when you’re tempted by less nutritious options.

The Blended Bites Philosophy

At Blended Bites, we believe healthy eating isn’t about deprivation. It’s about adding nourishing ingredients that naturally satisfy your body.

When you fill your treats with protein, healthy fats, nuts, fruit and natural ingredients, you often find you no longer crave highly processed snacks because your body is actually getting what it needs.

These protein balls are a perfect example.

Instead of empty calories, you are enjoying quality ingredients that work together to support sustained energy while still satisfying your sweet tooth.

That is Addition Eating in action.

Protein Makes All the Difference

One of the reasons these cheesecake balls are so satisfying is the generous amount of protein. Protein helps support muscle repair, keeps you fuller for longer, and slows digestion, making these treats far more satisfying than traditional chocolate truffles.

Choose your favourite vanilla protein powder. Whey, casein or a quality plant-based protein all work well, although you may need to slightly adjust the amount depending on the brand.

The protein also helps firm the filling, making it easier to roll into perfect balls.

Perfect Anytime Treats

These cheesecake protein balls are wonderfully versatile. Enjoy one after a workout, pack them into lunchboxes, serve them alongside coffee when friends visit, or keep a stash in the freezer whenever dessert cravings appear.

They are rich enough to feel decadent, yet wholesome enough to enjoy any day of the week. That is exactly what healthy treats should be.

Simple.
Delicious.
Nourishing.

And every bite reminds you that looking after your health never means giving up dessert.
One delicious protein ball at a time. ✨

Ingredients

Cheesecake Filling

  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1 cup vanilla protein powder
  • 3/4 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened (so it mixes easily)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons coconut flour (optional, if mixture is soft)

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Optional Toppings

  • Chopped roasted peanuts
  • Freeze-dried banana pieces
  • Shredded coconut
  • Drizzle of peanut butter

Instructions

  • Mash the banana untilsmooth.
To soften the cream cheese, leave out at room temperature for an hour or so, or give it a couple of 10 second bursts in the microwave.
Add the peanut butter, cream cheese, maple syrup, vanilla and salt. Mix until creamy.
Stir in the protein powder and almond flour until a soft dough forms.
If the mixture feels sticky, mix in the coconut flour or refrigerate for 20–30 minutes.
Roll into 18 evenly sized balls.
Freeze for 30–45 minutes until firm.

Chocolate Coating

  • Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in small dish and microwave with 20 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.
Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.
Working quickly, using two forks, dip one ball at a time into the bowl of melted chocolate until it is fully coated. Lift the ball from the bowl of chocolate and let any excess drip off, then place it onto a tray lined with baking paper. Repeat with the remaining bars.
Or hold each one with a fork over the melted chocolate and spoon it over letting the excess drip back into the bowl.
Sprinkle with optional toppings before the chocolate sets.
    Refrigerate until firm.
Store in fridge for up to 1 week or freezer for up to 3 months.
    Blended Bites Tips 💡
Use a ripe banana for maximum sweetness and flavour.
If your mixture feels a little soft, simply refrigerate it for 30 minutes before rolling. Protein powders vary considerably, so don't hesitate to add an extra spoonful if needed.
Freeze the balls before coating them in chocolate. This makes dipping much easier and helps create that beautiful chocolate shell.
For an extra-special finish, sprinkle the tops with chopped roasted peanuts, freeze-dried banana pieces, shredded coconut or a light drizzle of melted peanut butter before the chocolate sets.
