Creamy, Tropical & Refreshingly Delicious
If you are craving something cool, creamy, and wonderfully tropical, these Pineapple Frozen Protein Bites are just the thing.
Light, fluffy, naturally fruity, and packed with protein, these little freezer treats are like tiny bites of pineapple cream pie or tropical ice cream. They are made with whipped heavy cream or coconut cream, protein powder, sweetener, and real pineapple for a simple dessert that feels far more indulgent than the ingredient list suggests.
And because there is no baking involved, they are incredibly easy to make.
At Blended Bites, we believe healthy treats should be something you genuinely enjoy eating. There is no need to eliminate dessert from your life or constantly worry about whether a food is “allowed.” Instead, we focus on Addition Eating – adding nourishing ingredients to the foods and flavours we already love.
These Pineapple Cream Frozen Protein Bites are a delicious example.
Why You Will Love These Frozen Bites
The base is wonderfully simple. Heavy whipping cream creates a light, fluffy texture that freezes beautifully. Once whipped, it becomes airy and rich, giving these bites a luxurious mousse-like consistency.
Prefer to avoid dairy? Full-fat coconut cream is an excellent alternative. It creates a similarly creamy texture while adding a subtle coconut flavour that pairs beautifully with pineapple.
Together, coconut and pineapple create an instant tropical holiday feeling.
Then we add protein powder. Protein powder helps stabilise the whipped cream while adding a satisfying boost of protein. This is important because protein can help support muscle maintenance and recovery and contributes to feelings of fullness. That makes these bites more satisfying than a traditional whipped cream dessert.
Instead of simply providing sweetness, they are a treat that also contributes something useful to your day. And isn’t that what we want from healthy snacks?
Delicious and nourishing.
Real Pineapple Makes All the Difference
The star of this recipe is pineapple. Fresh pineapple is fantastic when it is ripe and sweet, but canned pineapple can work too. Just make sure it is very well drained so you don’t add excess liquid to the whipped cream mixture.
Pineapple brings a naturally sweet, slightly tangy flavour that cuts through the richness of the cream beautifully. It also provides vitamin C and other beneficial plant compounds, making it a delicious way to add more fruit to your diet. For an extra-intense pineapple flavour, you can blend a small amount of chopped pineapple into a smooth puree and fold it into the whipped mixture.
You can also add a little finely grated lime zest for an extra tropical kick.
A Dessert That Works As A Snack
One of the best things about these little bites is their versatility. Enjoy them straight from the freezer when you want something cool and refreshing.
Serve them alongside fresh pineapple, berries, or mango for an easy dessert.
Drop one into a smoothie for extra creaminess and protein.
Add one to a smoothie bowl.
Place one on top of warm oats or porridge and let it slowly melt.
Or serve several with a drizzle of dark or white chocolate when you want something a little more decadent.
Because they are made in small portions, you can take out exactly as many as you need. That makes them perfect for keeping in the freezer for busy days or unexpected sweet cravings.
A Simple Freezer Staple
These Pineapple Frozen Protein Bites are one of those recipes you will be glad to have tucked away in the freezer.
They are quick to prepare, easy to customise, and incredibly satisfying. They also make a lovely alternative to heavier frozen desserts when you want something light and refreshing. And because they are made with protein, fruit, and cream rather than a long list of processed ingredients, they are a perfect example of the Blended Bites approach to healthy snacking.
No deprivation.
No complicated ingredients.
No baking.
Just creamy, tropical goodness waiting in your freezer.
So grab some pineapple, whip up a batch, and bring a little sunshine to your snack time. 💛
Using whipped cream can be a part of healthy treats when made without processed sugars or by using dairy-free alternatives like coconut cream. You can also use whipped yogurt and frozen fruit to create low-sugar, snacks and treats that pair well with antioxidant-rich fruits and protein bases.
