Snickers Protein Balls

Snickers Protein Balls

Caramel, chocolate, peanut perfection in one bite-sized snack.

If you love the sweet-salty magic of a Snickers bar but want something made with wholesome ingredients, these Snickers Protein Balls are about to become a firm favourite. They have got everything you love about the classic candy bar –  caramel-like sweetness, peanut flavour, chewy texture, and rich chocolate notes – all rolled into easy no-bake bites that fuel your body as much as they satisfy cravings.

Very Blended Bites.

These protein balls are soft, chewy, rich, and naturally sweet, with crunchy peanut pieces and chocolate in every bite. They taste indulgent enough for dessert, but thanks to ingredients like dates, oats, peanut butter, and protein powder, they are also the kind of snack that keeps you energised and satisfied.

Why These Protein Balls Work

The secret to that classic Snickers flavour starts with dates. Dates are naturally sticky, sweet, and rich with a caramel-like taste, making them the perfect whole-food substitute for processed caramel or syrup. They bind the mixture beautifully while adding fibre and natural energy.

Rolled oats add structure and texture, helping create that satisfying chewy bite while providing slow-release carbohydrates. Combined with dates, oats form the perfect soft and hearty base for protein balls.

Peanut butter is where the Snickers magic really comes alive. It adds richness, healthy fats, and that unmistakable roasted peanut flavour that pairs so perfectly with caramel sweetness. Chopped peanuts folded through the mixture add crunch and texture, making each bite feel even more like the real thing.

Protein powder turns these from simple energy bites into something more functional. It boosts the protein content, helps with satiety, and makes these bites a smart option for post-workout snacks or busy afternoons when you need something that lasts.

And of course, chocolate ties it all together. Cocoa powder in the mix gives a rich chocolate undertone, while optional dark chocolate drizzle or chips make them feel extra indulgent.

The result? Soft caramel centre, peanut crunch, chocolate richness… all in one nourishing bite.

These Snickers Protein Balls are ideal for:

  • Post-workout snacks
  • Mid-afternoon energy boosts
  • Lunchbox treats
  • Healthy dessert cravings
  • Meal prep snack jars

They are portable, freezer-friendly, and dangerously easy to keep reaching for. ✨

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soft dates (if hard, soak 30 minutes and drain)
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup roasted, peanuts, chopped, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons almond milk or water (if needed)

Chocolate Coating

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Toppings  Optional

  • Extra chopped peanuts
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • Add oats to a food processor and pulse a few times to break them down slightly.
Add dates, peanut butter, protein powder, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt. Blend until the mixture becomes sticky and starts clumping together.
If the mixture feels too dry, add almond milk or water one tablespoon at a time until it holds together.
Stir or pulse in half the chopped peanuts briefly so they remain chunky.
Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll into 12-14  balls.
Chop up the remaining peanuts into small pieces for topping. Set aside.

Chocolate Coating

  • Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in small dish and microwave with 20 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.
Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.
Once the chocolate is melted dip each ball into the melted chocolate so that half of the ball is coated in chocolate. Sprinkle the ball with crushed peanuts and sea salt. Repeat this process until all the balls are coated in chocolate.
Set the balls on a plate and transfer them to the freezer for 20 minutes or until the chocolate has set.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
