Spread the love

If you thought the original version was good… wait until you try these

They have got:

A snappy dark chocolate shell
A creamy coconut centre
A burst of sweet-tart strawberry
But now? Protein boosted
And they are completely no bake.

This is the kind of recipe that feels indulgent but is secretly made from real, wholesome ingredients. Classic Blended Bites energy – treat vibes, smart ingredients. Because here at Blended Bites, we don’t just make treats. We upgrade them.

These little cups taste like chocolate-covered strawberries crossed with a coconut truffle – but they also help support muscle repair, balance blood sugar, and keep you satisfied longer. That is what we call smart indulgence.

Why These Strawberry Cups Are Different

Traditional chocolate cups are usually packed with refined sugar and ultra-processed fillings. Delicious? Sure. But they don’t give you much back nutritionally.

Why Add Protein?

Adding protein to treats isn’t about making everything “diet food.” It’s about balance. So instead of a sugar spike and crash, you get flavour, satisfaction, and balanced energy.

When you combine:

✔ Healthy fats (coconut + dark chocolate)
✔ Natural carbohydrates (strawberries)
✔ Quality protein

You slow digestion, reduce sugar spikes, and feel satisfied with one or two – not six. And honestly? The protein makes the filling even creamier and more fudge-like.

Win-win.

The Coconut Strawberry Magic

Coconut butter forms the rich, creamy base. It’s made from the whole coconut flesh (not just the oil), so it contains fibre and nutrients along with healthy fats.
Freeze-dried strawberries give you that concentrated berry flavour without adding excess moisture.
Vanilla protein powder blends seamlessly into the filling, adding structure and subtle sweetness.
Together? It’s smooth, fruity, chocolatey perfection.

Why These Keep You Satisfied

The combination of:

✔ Protein
✔ Healthy fats
✔ Fibre
✔ Dark chocolate

Creates lasting satisfaction. Instead of a sugar rush followed by cravings, you get steady energy and that “I’ve had something delicious and I’m good now” feeling. That’s the difference between a treat that controls you and a treat that supports you.

Perfect For:

After-dinner chocolate craving
Freezer snack
Post-workout treat
Homemade edible gifts
Balanced indulgence anytime
They look fancy
They taste indulgent
They are secretly functional.

And once you have had protein butter cups? Regular ones just don’t hit the same. Because when dessert fuels you back, it changes the whole experience.

That is the Blended Bites way. ✨

Ingredients

Chocolate Shell

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Strawberry Coconut Protein Filling

  • 1/2 cup coconut butter – store bought or recipe link for homemade below in notes
  • 2 tablespoons freeze-dried strawberry powder or crushed freeze-dried strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla protein powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 1-2 teaspoons almond milk (if needed for texture)

Instructions

  • Place 10-12 mini muffin liners in a muffin tray.
Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in small dish and microwave with 20 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.
Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.
Spoon about 1–2 teaspoons of melted chocolate into each liner. Tilt to coat the base slightly up the sides to make a little cup for the filling to sit in.
Place in freezer for 10 minutes to set.

Strawberry Coconut Filling

  • To soften coconut butter place the jar in a warm water bath for a few minutes.
Stir together coconut butter, strawberry powder, protein powder, maple syrup, vanilla, and sea salt until smooth.
If the mixture feels too thick, add a teaspoon of almond milk at a time until creamy but firm.
Spoon a small amount of the strawberry coconut mixture onto each chocolate base. Flatten gently.
Cover each cup with remaining melted chocolate.
Refrigerate or freeze until fully firm.
Store in fridge or freezer and peel the liner off before eating.
    Blended Bites Tips 💡
Use a clean vanilla protein for best flavour balance.
For extra protein, add 1 tablespoon collagen peptides.
Sprinkle shredded coconut on top before the chocolate sets.
Store in freezer for a firmer, truffle-like bite.
Use freeze-dried strawberries for the best flavour without extra moisture.
Add a whole fresh raspberry in the centre for a surprise burst.
Prefer it sweeter? Add an extra teaspoon of maple syrup.
Make them mini for portion-friendly treats.
