Homemade berry jellies that are good for your gut? YESSS! You only need a handful of healthy ingredients to make these beautiful berry cloud jellies, and they are easily customisable to what berries you have on hand.
A homemade fruit gummy recipe, made with real fruit and protein-rich gelatin. Refined sugar-free. A healthy dessert or snack for anyone, but particularly for kids – they are filled with healthy fats, gut-healing gelatin and collagen, antioxidants and immune boosting honey. However, most store-bought gummies contain refined sugars like glucose syrup, sugar, dextrose or artificial flavors and colors, which doesn’t make them the healthiest option.
Even though they claim to be fruit-flavored, there’s very little – if any at all – actual fruit in them. Gummy candies are filled with unhealthy ingredients with a list on the label that looks like this – sugar, sugar, corn syrup, sugar, red 40, blue 1, and yellow 5.
You can do so much with homemade gummies as they can be made with real fruits and vegetables, protein-rich gelatin and no refined sugar! Great for picky eater children or adults that resist eating fruits and vegetables. All types of fruit can be used including cooked, pureed carrot, pumpkin, broccoli and so on. You can even use greens powder or blend up chia, hemp, flax seeds too and incorporate into a gummy.
As with the classic homemade fruit jellies the sky is the limit when deciding what shape to make them. You can use different fun shapes or gummy bear molds. If you don’t have any silicone molds, you simply pour the mixture into a pan and cut them into squares when they have firmed.
Loaded with nutrients and so much better for you than anything store-bought. A great option for an easy and healthy all-natural snack with protein and no artificial junk in them! Easy to make and fun to eat! As well as the healthy fruit and vegetables there is also a health boost from gelatin.
Gelatin is a colorless and tasteless protein made from hydrolyzed collagen, which means it is part of the broken-down collagen. It provides important amino acids which are the building blocks of protein.
Gelatin also has a ton health benefits – supporting digestive and gut health, maintaining strong bones, helping with joint pain, strengthening tendons, improving skin health, and can even help improve sleep.
Gelatin when cooled, becomes a sticky adhesive like glue and gels together. Which is how we can make homemade jellies from it.
The gelatinous quality is actually great for our bodies because it helps build strong connective tissues and cartilage and gives parts of our bodies some elasticity. Some find that gelatin is easier to digest than collagen too.
Why do kids love cloud jellies? Well, they are jelly. Enough said right? So why should adults love them? When made with good quality gelatin, good quality yoghurt and just fruit as a sweetener they are a super healthy treat. Great for lunch boxes. There’s no refined sugar in these, so you aren’t giving kids a sugar high, instead you are helping them power through to the last bell with some extra protein and the health benefits of gelatin.
Experience portable fruit and yogurt yumminess for yourself. So easy to make and heaps of health benefits for the kiddos or yourself.
