I have seen these viral yogurt bites all over social media, many with just 3 ingredients, and knew I needed to make my own version. While my recipe requires more than just 3 ingredients, these bites are packed with protein and taste incredible! They have been my go-to dessert for weeks.

These protein yogurt bites are made with your choice of yogurt, cashew butter and protein powder. The filling is frozen, then dipped in chocolate for a simple, satisfying and healthy dessert or snack.

This recipe is simply the easiest, healthy snack – filled with creamy goodness and protein powder for a boost of protein. You will love the crunchy chocolate shell that turns this simple snack into a real treat.

The idea was to improve the macro balance (protein, carbohydrate, healthy fats). This is not about calorie counting: It’s about paying attention to key nutrients and taking in the daily recommended portion your body needs to maintain your energy levels and overall wellbeing.

When you find your optimal balance and amounts of macro nutrients, you take a major step toward reaching your health goals and this balance has been improved in this recipe by the addition of healthy protein.

This recipe, is very similar to frozen yogurt bark, but instead of spreading everything on a baking sheet, the recipe is shaped in bites and then coated in melted chocolate.

The perfect bite-sized treat to enjoy any time of day, whether you are craving a sweet snack or a healthy dessert alternative.

Taste? Just pure bliss! Go ahead and make these delightful vanilla protein yogurt bites you will be sooooo happy you did!

Ingredients

Yogurt Base

  • 1 cup thick Greek yogurt, plain
  • 1/4 cup cashew (or any nut/seed) butter
  • 2 tablespoons protein or collagen powder
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Instructions

Yogurt Base

  • Add all frozen yogurt ingredients to a bowl (except mini chocolate chips) and mix until smooth and combined.  Stir in mini chocolate chips.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or use a silicon baking mat and using either a medium cookie scoop or spoon, scoop dollops of the yogurt mixture onto the making sheet, slightly spacing each one apart.
Makes 6-8 bites depending on your preferred size.
Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and freeze for at least 1 hour, or until the yogurt is completely solid.

Chocolate Coating

  • Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in small dish and microwave with 20 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.
Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.
Remove the frozen yogurt bites from the freezer and dip each one using 1 or 2 forks to turn the frozen discs around in the melted chocolate to coat.
Or you can hold each disc with a fork over the bowl of melted chocolate and spoon it over until coated letting the excess drip back into the bowl.
After each one is coated, transfer back to the baking sheet.
Once all yogurt bites have been dipped in chocolate, return to the freezer for at least another 30 minutes, or until chocolate has hardened. Either store in the freezer for enjoy later on, or take one out to enjoy right away!
Tips and Tricks For the Best Frozen Yogurt Bites
Make sure to freeze the yogurt bites completely before dipping them in the melted chocolate to prevent them from melting.
For a thicker chocolate coating, dip each bite twice, allowing the chocolate to harden between dips.
    Switch Up The Flavors
Try swapping the cashew butter for peanut or almond butter or even tahini (sesame seed).
Substitute the mini chocolate chips for white chocolate chips or chopped nuts for a different texture and flavor.
Add a pinch of sea salt on top of the dipped bites to balance the sweetness with a salty kick!
