For many people, the idea of making your own fudge seems as likely and possible as building your own time travel machine. But those people don’t know how easy making fudge can be.
Traditionally, making fudge required extensive knowledge of sugar temperature stages, owning a candy thermometer and having a lot of patience. It is usually made with a bunch of ingredients (ie. truckloads of sugar) and can take up to an hour to make. You even need a candy thermometer to ensure the fudge is cooked at the correct temperature. Because of this, I would classify traditional fudge recipes on the “medium” scale of difficulty.
But not this fudge. None of that stuff is necessary in today’s world thanks to the existence of simple healthier recipes. This real-food fudge is easy – it only takes four base ingredients and it comes together in minutes. If you have ever wanted to make your own fudge then this is the recipe is for you! An easy, delicious fudge recipe using melted chocolate, nut butter, protein powder and raspberries.
Homemade fudge has been my go-to treat for a few years now. When I get a craving, it’s usually for sweets and fats. Fudge always delivers the goods! It is such a satisfying snack that I never need more than one or two small pieces to feel content.
Fudge is a great dessert too that is always a crowd pleaser. If you are looking for a chocolate fudge recipe, you have got to try this one! It comes together quickly and the peanut butter gives it a sweet nutty flavor. Its just like regular fudge – super rich, uber decadent – but it’s secretly healthy and guilt-free! Yup, that means no butter, no white sugar and no sweetened condensed milk… just pure, fudgy chocolatey goodness. Each little cube is like a piece of heaven.
This fudge is super soft, yet holds its shape long enough for you to pop it in your mouth… where it then melts in your mouth. This is possibly the most heavenly fudge in the world. It’s a world apart from the regular varieties which are usually laden with dairy and insane amounts of not-so-healthy sugar.
Fully customizable too – you can add your own extras like nuts, dried fruit, seeds or other flavours to the 4-ingredient base fudge recipe. Put your own stamp on it and make it your own!
There is no world for me where raspberries and chocolate aren’t dreamy together. It’s just such a perfect combo! Just 4 SIMPLE ingredients create the most decadent treat at home! Chocolate + Raspberries = Made for each other.
This sweet treat is not only delicious, but it’s also packed with nutrients that support your health, including:
– Antioxidant-rich dark chocolate helps lower blood pressure and improve blood flow
– Raspberries, high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals to support healthy digestion and satiety
– Nut butter, rich in healthy fats and protein to keep you full and satisfied
Treat yourself and your loved ones to a sweet and healthy snack or dessert. And YES. This recipe is just as awesome with almond butter, or cashew butter in exchange for the peanut butter! You can also swap the nut butter for a seed butter or coconut butter!
To make this fudge recipe even healthier, I have added protein powder to make it more balanced than the traditional high carb, low protein recipe. Old fashioned baked recipes always had tons of sugar, carbs and fats. The new modern way is to add protein making the recipe more balanced and healthy.
Eating protein-rich foods has many health and fitness benefits, including:
Speeding recovery after exercise and/or injury.
Reducing muscle loss
Building lean muscle
Helping maintain a healthy weight
Curbing hunger
A well-balanced diet with proper ratios of macro nutrients (protein, healthy carbs and fats) provides all of the: energy you need to keep active throughout the day. nutrients you need for growth and repair, helping you to stay strong and healthy and help to prevent diet-related illness.
When you find your optimal balance and amounts of macro nutrients, you take a major step toward reaching your health goals and this balance has been improved in this recipe by the addition of healthy protein.
Your body can only absorb around 25-30 grams of protein at one time and you likely need 80-100 plus grams a day so its important to spread it over all meals and snacks throughout the day so you can meet your required amount.
