These Strawberry Bites are the best fruity protein snack to fix your sweet tooth and fill you up with 6 grams of protein per energy bite. I love creating protein bites recipes because it’s an easy way to eat something sweet, small, and filling.

If you are on social media, you may have seen the latest food trend that’s taking homemade summer treats to a whole new level. Since last month, chocolate-dipped strawberry bites have been all over my social feeds, and I fully understand why.

They seem incredibly simple because you only need three key ingredients to make them: chocolate, strawberries and cottage cheese. People have even started personalizing the trend by using different fruits, like raspberries and blueberries.

But honestly, I was most intrigued by the original trending bites. I just knew I had to try them with strawberries, because chocolate + strawberries is one of my favourite flavour combinations EVER!

I followed the original creators version of the recipe – which has over 25 million views – to see what all of the hype was about. This recipe did not disappoint and was loved by my family and made with nutritious ingredients it was a win-win!

Any fruit covered in chocolate honestly is the best! Especially freeze-dried fruit as it has so much flavour, is sweet and soft while the chocolate is hard, crunchy, and rich – what could be better??

Well, I’ll tell you right now that these strawberry bites take that flavor and texture combo to the next level. By adding cottage cheese to the mixture and freezing, you have bites that are creamy, tangy, sweet, crunchy, and rich.

They are perfect to have stocked in the freezer for when you want a refreshing sweet treat during a hot day, or just have a craving for something chocolately!

You can use this as a base recipe and swap out the fruit for different kinds like blueberries, raspberries, etc. The possibilities are endless and it couldn’t be easier. Surprisingly easy to make, they are a healthy dessert option that your whole family will love! This recipe only uses 6 ingredients! Budget-friendly, easy, and you might already have everything at home.

They are a balanced sweet treat – by adding cottage cheese, these bites have extra protein making them more balanced and satiating while also satisfying your sweet tooth!  And of course…no bake – no oven needed and the only wait time is for them to set in the freezer.

Strawberries are an excellent source of Vitamin C – a serving of 8 strawberries (1 cup) has about the same amount as an orange! Vitamin C plays an essential role in immune function and helps form your body’s blood vessels, muscle, and collagen. It also helps your body absorb iron from foods and acts as an antioxidant.

Strawberries are also a source of dietary fibre (a 1 cup serving contains 3 grams). Fibre helps to lower blood cholesterol and promotes a healthy digestive system. These strawberry bites have been popular on my website and are so ‘pretty in pink’.

For this recipe, I used almond flour as a high-protein gluten-free flour, to create a healthy snack packed with healthy fats, perfect as a pre- or post-workout snack. Energy balls, protein bites, snack balls, bliss balls whatever you call them they are everywhere!

But the new versions are made with things like cottage cheese and yogurt which gives them a fabulous creamy texture and ups the protein content.

So, if you have been looking for an easy, nutritious homemade protein/energy bite then this is the ultimate one! This no-bake recipe is so easy to put together Adjustable and delicious, these babies are the best start to a busy day!

Whoever is responsible for the idea that we should mash a bunch of healthy ingredients into one little ball as a snack is an absolute genius in my book.

Little spheres of snacking. Little orbs of awesome.

They are among the most tasty, filling, and convenient healthy snack ideas you can enjoy. If you are looking to make homemade energy balls, though, then you have probably got an inkling that DIY’ing it has certain advantages.

The main draw with going the homemade route is the infinite customizability. When you make your own healthy treats, you never have to compromise on getting exactly what you are looking for. You can also save money by making your own healthy homemade snacks and they can taste way better than anything you can buy at the store.

I love having my freezer stocked with these creamy, chocolate-coated strawberry bites packed with protein and natural sweetness for a perfect guilt-free dessert or for whenever I just want a ‘lil somethin’.
