Coconut butter fudge has been my go-to treat for a few years now. When I get a craving, it’s usually for sweets and fats. Coconut butter fudge always delivers the goods! It is such a satisfying snack that I never need more than one or two small pieces to feel content.
Have you ever taken a bite of a snack or dessert and from the very first taste were like, “Omg. That is SO GOOD.” “So good I probably shouldn’t be eating it.” Indulgent taste. Melt in your mouth goodness. This fudge feels like it’s totally sinful. Silky. Creamy. Smoooooth.
But guess what! It’s HEALTHY. Fresh and DELISH – without needing any sugar, dairy, artificial sweeteners or JUNK. This fudge is my newest obsession. And once you try it, you will see why!
I absolutely love experimenting with creative ways to make fudge *without* using ANY dairy or ANY sugar. But this recipe has this ONE special ingredient that is so insanely unique and delicious. I wanna drizzle it on everything.
What is it?? COCONUT BUTTER. This is a GAME CHANGER.
What is Coconut Butter?
If you are new to coconut butter, it’s probably confusing. No, it’s not like “real” butter. It’s more like almond butter, but made with blended coconut instead of blended almonds. It’s naturally mildly sweet (but there’s no sugar added.) In short, it’s MAGIC. 😉
This is a big one – it *doesn’t* taste like coconut. Seriously! It has almost a shortbread flavor. And not like any nut butter you have ever had before. Because it naturally contains coconut *oil*, it hardens when chilled.
Our Bodies Need Saturated Fats.
There has been a lot of misinformation on this subject in the last century. Saturated fats like coconut oil and butter have been demonized. But saturated fat from healthy natural sources is very important for our optimal bodily function. Saturated fats play crucial roles in our body, delivering vitamins and minerals, building cell walls, regulating hormones, keeping us full longer, helping deliver calcium to our bones, protecting us from calcification of the joints, keeping our immune system in tip-top shape, and so much more.
Coconut Butter has a very unique property – it is solid and almost rock hard at room temperature and below, and liquid when heated/melted. It has a buttery silky texture and mouthfeel and mild flavor. These properties make it ideal for candies and other dessert treats. On the other hand, there is no real substitute for coconut butter. There’s nothing else really like it.
It’s so amazing and versatile, it can transform into this healthy fudge and so many other tasty treats like bliss balls, protein bars, smoothies and smoothie bowls, candy, frosting. OH MY. My mouth is drooling just typing this.
You can buy coconut butter or you can easily make your own. The simple recipe is below in notes. This fudge recipe uses real wholefood ingredients like coconut butter to make a melt in your mouth fudge! Delicious and easy that’s made with better-for-you ingredients and without any fancy equipment.
If you are looking for a super easy, speedy and delicious healthier treat that only calls for a handful of ingredients, you need to try this recipe! And once you try it you will want to make it time and time again. But be warned….Its one of those ‘bet you can’t eat just one’ treats! Good thing that my favourite thing to do is take an old fashioned ‘not-so-healthy’ recipe and ‘healthify’ it – turning it into a healthier alternative.
If you are looking for the ultimate fudge recipe, then look no further. I promise you these are this is the best damn fudge you will ever taste. I hope you like it as much as my husband does; he may or may not have eaten half a pan of it over the past 24 hours.

They are going to be your newest healthy obsession and it SO EASY to make! Keep a stash in the freezer for a sweet treat that’s naturally sweetened and absolutely delicious!
I like to store the leftovers in the freezer and just pull one (or two) out before I want to enjoy them. They are best chilled + last much longer this way. You can let them lightly thaw OR eat them frozen for a melt-in-your-mouth treat that is buttery and delicious!
I love the new healthy eating trends as its ALL about ‘adding’ to your diet, not reducing or eliminating certain food groups. More protein, more veges, more healthy fats and so on…
A great and delicious way to get some extra healthy fats into your diet. These fudge treats are highly addictive and totally satisfying. And…so easy to make. Just blend ingredients together. Do the layers. Chill. Cut into squares. That’s it. Done! Enjoy!

Coconut Layer
- In a small saucepan over very low heat, melt the coconut butter and honey while stirring continuously. Stir in the coconut, protein powder, coconut milk and remove from heat, then stir in the vanilla.Sprinkle the coconut layer evenly over the thickened chocolate layer (shouldn't be completely set or the two layers will separate as they cool),
Chocolate Drizzle Topping
- Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in small dish and microwave with 15 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.Once melted, drizzle the melted chocolate/coconut oil over the top. Put in the freezer for 10 minutes to set and then cut into 16-20 squares to serve!Store leftovers in either the freezer or refrigerator. The freezer will give it more of a candy bar consistency while the fridge will make it more like fudge.Recipe Notes*I refrigerated my can of coconut milk so the water and cream separate, then discarded half the water and blended the rest together for a thick, creamy coconut milk.
