Ingredients

  • 1 cup nuts, raw or roasted
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (skip for less spicy) or chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil

Optional Topping

  • 1 tablespoon nuts, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes and/or cayennepepper

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper. Or use a silicon baking mat. Set aside.
    Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in medium sized dish and microwave at 50% power with 30 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.
    Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.
    Fold in nuts and spices. Using a spoon, scoop and drop small piles of chocolate-covered nuts on the prepared baking sheet. These cluster piles should be evenly spaced apart.
    Sprinkle with finely chopped nuts and spices.
    Allow to set at room temperature, until firm. Or, chill in the refrigerator, for about 30 minutes.
     Store in fridge for up to a week or freezer for up to 3 months.
