I have been getting creative with new ways to get my protein in and am constantly looking for ideas. I was recently inspired by a trip to Dunkin Donuts as they had a protein muffin (not as good as my protein muffins), so I thought, what about donuts?!
These almond donuts are made of protein-rich edible cookie dough with a soft texture and topped with a chocolate glaze. Ready in 15 minutes, this recipe is easy to make, safe to eat, dairy free, and gluten free!
But woah, baby. These easy homemade glazed doughnuts are the cat’s pyjamas. The bee’s knees. The llama’s … mama. Anyways. They pretty much encompass everything you want in a doughnut: soft, doughy center, slightly crisp exterior and sticky sweet glaze.
Best of all, there is no yeast involved. And when there is no yeast involved, there is no rising or rolling or kneading required, no long rest times or fryer oil needed!. Win, win and win.
These easy no bake donuts are creamy, and make a delicious treat that is perfect as an everyday snack or a holiday treat. The ingredients are few and wholesome with no refined sugar, no butter, no unhealthy oils and no baking. Just mix, form donuts either with a mold or donut pan, glaze and enjoy!

These no bake donuts are easy to customize.
Glaze with white chocolate or even melted almond butter drizzle.

I love how a handful of ingredients can turn into something so exquisitely delicious. If you are even vaguely obsessed with donuts but can’t quite get yourself to deep-fry, these chewy no-bake donuts are simple delish. I made a test batch last week and they disappeared before you could say, hole in the middle.

Almond Glazed Protein “Donuts”
Ingredients
Donut Base
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup protein or collagen peptides powder
- 1/4 cup almond (or any other nut or seed) butter
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch salt
- 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
Chocolate Glaze
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons coconut oil
Instructions
Base Donut
- Add all ingredients to a small bowl and mix until well combined into a dough.Fold in chocolate chips. If too wet or sticky, add more almond flour or protein powder; if too dry add milk.Press the dough into a mini donut mold, or use a full-sized donut pan but make fewer. If you don’t have a donut pan no worries. We can make our own.Make Your Own Donut Pan - All you need is a cupcake (muffin) pan and some regular old tin foil! Cut the foil into a 4 x4 square and bend gently around your middle finger.Remove your finger and press the shape you are left with into the muffin tin. The results: You are left with a perfect donut hole shaped tin that yields round donuts.Scoop the dough out into 6 donut molds, chill for at least 10 minutes or until they can be removed from the mold and retain shape.Make chocolate glaze next and apply.
Chocolate Glaze
- Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in small dish and microwave with 15 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.Once melted, dip donuts in to glaze the top. Line them glaze up on a baking sheet and add any toppings like chopped nuts or sprinkles. Refrigerate 5 minutes until the glaze is set.Store up to 1 week in fridge or up to 3 months in freezer.
