These homemade peppermint patties taste like the real deal, but are made with zero refined sugar! They are easy to make, delicious and are the perfect healthy treat.
Peppermint patties are one of my favorite candies! They have a sugary, sweet, and peppermint-flavored center and are coated with dark chocolate. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to make my own version, but I’m so glad I did! This version tastes just like the real thing, but with wholesome ingredients.
There are three different types of coconut in this recipe – coconut cream, coconut butter and coconut oil and that combination creates a creamy, smooth filling that melts in your mouth.
This recipe is the perfect treat if you love coconut like I do. I’m obsessed with coconuts, they are my favorite ingredient in desserts and healthy snacks.
The world is going coconuts. Following the popularity of coconut water, a broad spectrum of foods derived from the humble coconut is available. It now comes in a variety of forms from water to milk, cream, butter, oil, flour and shredded allowing for a variety of creative ways to add coconut to a healthy diet.
Coconut contains a unique type of medium chain saturated fat called lauric acid that research shows raises HDL or “good” cholesterol levels, which lowers overall heart disease risk.
As a plant food, coconuts also contain disease-fighting phytochemicals or antioxidants. Research suggests that coconut products helps boost metabolism which is helpful if excess body fat needs to be lost.
Just one scoop of coconut oil delivers a wide-range of healing properties. Produced in its most natural state, coconut oil will benefit you, your children and your pets. I put some into my dogs dinner regularly.
Whether you have chronic fatigue, weight problems, digestive or skin issues, or just want to give your body a good cleanse and boost your energy, coconut in any of its forms is so good for you. It is considered one of the healthiest foods on the planet!
People trying to reduce their sugar intake often complain about the lack of sweets in their quest to get healthier. That’s because a low-carb way of eating is very focused on eliminating harmful sugar from your diet. But there are options for that lingering sweet tooth in your life.
Hence these no-bake peppermint patties are both low-carb and packed with healthy fats and antioxidants. Eating more healthy fats is a great way to help satisfying your sweet cravings without the sugar.
Not only are these healthy treats insanely delicious and easy to prepare, they also comes with some surprising health benefits. One little patty makes me happy in an instant. They are soft and chewy and you are going to love this superfood candy. It’s a simple and delicious way to incorporate the amazing health benefits of coconut into your lifestyle, as its bursting with nutrition and good stuff.
Peppermint patties are so refreshing and I love the combination of mint and chocolate. They have just the right balance of chocolate and mint – neither one overpowering the other. And even though coconut is used in three ways, they do not have a coconut flavor.
These of course won’t be exactly the same as the store bought ones, but these ones have no weird ingredients and I think you will like them better. A classic treat made with real ingredients.
I can’t begin to tell you how satisfying it is to take an old favorite candy and ‘healthifying’ it making it totally without refined sugar and without the unhealthy ingredients that are in mass produced candies.
To make it even better, these have just 6 ingredients and they are totally creamy, sweet, and satisfying. You will never go back to store-bought after tasting these small but mighty delights!

- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup

Once the fillings are set and solid, melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil for the coating.
Chocolate Coating
