Delicious Protein Fluff With Just 3 Ingredients

Spread the love

Protein fluff has been floating around in the fitness community for many years. If you have never heard of it before, you may be wondering what exactly it is.

Protein fluff is an awesome frozen, thick, “marshmallowy”, airy light, pudding-type, ice cream like substance. It’s delicious, quite high in volume and high in protein. It is a blended frozen treat made with protein powder, and because it is so filling with so few calories, it’s a staple in many bodybuilding diets or weight loss plans.

It’s a calorie friendly recipe; rather low in both fat and carbohydrates – making it a satiating stand-alone dessert, breakfast or anytime snack. It’s also a great topping for things like pancakes or cheesecakes!

And the best part is you only need 3 main ingredients to make it. With just a few ingredients, you can fill an entire salad bowl and find yourself sitting down with a soup spoon eating what looks like a calorific bomb of frozen decadence.

Warning: Once you try it, you can’t stop making it. Your taste buds will LOVE it. It’s a healthy meal or snack to die for! And yet it’s a low-calorie snack.

Protein fluff’s filling and low-calorie nature is precisely what makes it a staple among many fitness people and dieters. It is also extremely easy to make and the three basic ingredients needed are frozen fruit, protein powder and milk or water. Pretty much the same stuff you use in a protein shake or smoothie.

Protein Fluff truly is the discovery of the century! From a few ingredients, you conjure up a super airy mousse. The amount will also be 2x as much as you started with, so this recipe is just magical! Not only is it easy to whip up when you are feeling “munchy” but after-dinner is when the biggest chocolate cravings occur. Making this a “fix-all” protein recipe.

We only need THREE ingredients to make our version here.

Ingredient 1: Frozen Fruit

The secret weapon in this recipe is frozen fruit. When you blend ice, it tends to create a slushy, sometimes gritty consistency. But when you blend up frozen fruit, it becomes incredibly smooth and creamy. ANY frozen fruit will work great to make protein fluff.

Ingredient 2: Protein Powder

Of course, this is protein fluff, so protein powder is a necessary ingredient.

Because we are not using any thickening agents like xantham gum or pudding mix, the type of protein powder you use makes all the difference. Although I do prefer protein powder without flavorings, you cannot really get away with a plain protein powder in this particular recipe. Its easier to make the fluff if the whey protein contains xantham gum (which flavored ones do). You do need a flavored protein powder.

If you do wish to use an unflavoured protein powder you can add xantham gum – ½ teaspoon per serving which will make your protein fluff stay fluffier longer and gain a thicker consistency. Using xanthan gum is optional.

Ingredient 3: Water Or Milk

To turn it into fluff, whisk it for a good 5-8 minutes. That’s where the magic happens. Your ice cream turns into full-blown fluff. Its like magic!

Make your next dessert a luscious delight with protein fluff. A light pillow of sweetness anchored by protein powder. Yep, that's right: this homemade sweet treat can help you meet your high-quality protein goals. Whip up this light and airy cream creation for a healthy dessert or post workout snack!
