This Banana-berry smoothie is guaranteed to keep you satisfied all morning with 20 grams of whole food protein and a good balance of healthy carbs and fats! Packed with protein, it’s perfect for exercise recovery or fueling your body for a healthy day ahead and will keep you full for hours.

Its a satisfyingly easy breakfast that you can take on the go too. The addition of protein powder helps to make it more hearty and keep you fuller for longer. So thick and creamy it’s like a dessert for breakfast!  It’s the kind of smoothie you could enjoy practically every day, because it’s so quick, flexible, easy and surprisingly delicious.

A banana-berry smoothie is one that I make for myself several mornings a week for breakfast, and it powers me all the way until lunch. I love the mild sweetness of the banana, but if you want it sweeter you could add honey.

I change it up from time to time and add different flavors with different fruit or berries like kiwi or strawberries and I always add a handful of greens. I have several green veges growing in my garden at any one time so its easy to put some fresh leaves in and you don’t even taste them.

If you want to save some time, try prepping your smoothie in freezer bags by portioning out the banana and other ingredients. Then when you want to make it, simply add the milk to your blender and add the rest in.

I consider it a dump, blend and run recipe. It’s ready in 2 minutes (yes I timed it).  And you can easily double or triple the recipe if you have more mouths to feed!  Not to mention it’s so thick and creamy it’s just like an milk shake!

Why you will love this recipe – it’s super flavorful yet only requires 5-8 ingredients depending on how awesome you wish to make it. Feel free to experiment with different versions, and enjoy the pure energy that comes from eating fresh, good-for-you food!

For a different twist throw in some nuts or seeds for a bit of protein and healthy fat. I tend to rotate between hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds and flax seeds. Once in a while, I add in some shredded coconut.

And, if you want extra flavor, try adding some ground cinnamon or ginger. Experiment with different ingredient combinations to discover your favorites!

This gorgeous smoothie recipe offers enough variety for a different twist each morning! It’s powerful! Start your morning with a glass, and you will feel oddly invincible the rest of the day.
