If you love ice cream as much as I do, then you are probably just as excited as I am that there’s an easy and healthy alternative. Nice cream is fruit-based, made with 1 main ingredient – bananas! The process involves blending frozen bananas with a little bit of milk to create the perfect ice cream-like dessert.

Have you tried making nice cream yet? You may already know that if you blend frozen sliced bananas in a high-power blender, it will reach a smooth, creamy consistency. It is incredible that ripe bananas can be turned into ice cream.

It feels colder, though, when you eat it. The nice cream melts easier than regular dairy-free ice creams. It will be more like a soft serve than hard scoopable ice cream. However, you cannot beat the fact that nice cream is the healthiest, one-ingredient, truly whole foods plant-based ice cream you can ever try.

In this recipe, caramel sauce is added and swirled into the frozen bananas to get a creamy, soft-serve texture with a truly delicious caramel flavor. No need to wait for it since it is also scoopable right out of the blender.

This recipe is perfect if you are looking to satisfy that sweet tooth but also want to keep things on the lighter side. With protein-packed additions and sugar-free sweetening, you get all the creamy deliciousness without straying from your health goals. Its incredibly simple to make and only requires two ingredients, with optional add-ins for extra flavour!

Are you a fan of Caramel Sauce?  I am for sure!  Making homemade caramel sauce is easier than you might think, and the results are delicious.  That salty sweetness is the perfect topping on cheesecake, ice cream, brownies, and much more. Or, you can just lick it straight off the spoon 😉

You will love this recipe as it turns a classic indulgence into a simple, at-home luxury with minimal effort. Its rich, creamy texture combined with the sweet and salty flavor of caramel offers a gourmet ice cream experience that rivals any store-bought variety.

You can satisfy an ice cream craving guilt-free with this “nice cream“! Seems so simple, that it feels like you are cheating a bit… but to be honest – it’s delectable stuff. And let’s face it, why make it complicated when something this simple can taste insanely delightful!

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas, peeled, sliced, frozen
  • Splash of milk of choice
  • 1 scoop protein or collagen peptides powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • Date Caramel Sauce- store bought or recipe below in notes
  • Flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • Let the bananas thaw a bit (just 5 minutes or so), which will make them slightly easier to blend, then throw them along with the milk, protein powder and vanilla extract into a food processor or high speed blender.
Start blending on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to the highest speed, using the tamper to press ingredients toward the blades. Blend for 30 to 45 seconds or until smooth and creamy.
You can eat the nice cream straight out of the blender if you like the soft-serve texture. Fora firmer texture, spoon the mixture into a dish and set it in the freezer for about 30 minutes until it firms up. Then just scoop, serve, and enjoy!
Serve straight away or freeze for later. If frozen, allow to thaw for 20 minutes to let it soften before scooping.
Top with Caramel Sauce (recipe below in notes) and swirl into the nice cream for a decadent touch.
