Ingredients

  • 3/4-1 cup thick Greek-style yogurt (or coconut yogurt for dairy-free)
  • 1 scoop vanilla or unflavoured protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch sea salt

Chocolate Shell

  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Toppings Or Mix Ins (optional but recommended)

  • Chopped nuts
  • Fresh fruit or berries
  • Hemp seeds
  • Shredded coconut

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, protein powder, almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla and sea salt until smooth and creamy.
    Spread evenly in a serving bowl and place in the fridge or freezer for 5–10 minutes to chill. This helps the chocolate shell set faster.

Chocolate Shell

  • Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in small dish and microwave with 10 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.
    Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.
    Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the chilled yogurt mixture.
    Place in the fridge for 5–10 minutes until the chocolate firms up.
    Tap the shell with your spoon and enjoy that satisfying snap.
