These Frozen Whipped Cream Protein Bites are light, fluffy, and made with whipped cream or coconut cream, protein powder and natural flavourings before being piped into dollops and frozen. Perfect as a healthy high-protein snack, coffee topper, dessert garnish or fruity treat, they are a versatile freezer staple you will use again and again. ☁️☕

Ingredients

Option 1 (Dairy)

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

Option 2 (Dairy-Free)

  • 1 1/2 cups chilled full-fat coconut cream

Plus

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or powdered monk fruit sweetener (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Optional Toppings

  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Cacao nibs
  • Toasted coconut
  • Cinnamon
  • Chopped pistachios
  • Freeze-dried fruit
  • Dark chocolate drizzle

Instructions

  • Chill a mixing bowl and beaters for 10 minutes.
    Pour the heavy cream or coconut cream into the chilled bowl.
    Beat until soft peaks begin to form.
    Add the protein powder, vanilla, sweetener, salt and any flavour additions.
    Continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
    Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
    Pipe bite-sized dollops onto a baking paper-lined tray. Or spoon the dollops onto the tray.
    Sprinkle with your chosen toppings.
    Freeze for 2–3 hours until firm.
    Transfer to an airtight container and store in the freezer for up to 2 months. Enjoy straight from the freezer or allow to soften for 1–2 minutes for a creamy mousse-like texture.
    Optional Flavour Variations
    Chocolate: Add 1 tablespoon cacao powder or use chocolate protein powder.
    Strawberry: Add 2 tablespoons freeze-dried strawberry powder.
    Coffee: Add 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder.
    Peppermint: Add ¼ teaspoon peppermint extract.
    Birthday Cake: Add ¼ teaspoon almond extract and 2 tablespoons natural sprinkles.
    Cookies & Cream: Fold in crushed chocolate sandwich cookies or chocolate protein crispies.
    Lemon: Add the finely grated zest of 1 lemon.
    Peanut Butter: Fold in 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter.
