Cherry Smoothie Bowl With Magic Shell

A delicious smoothie bowl you need to try! Thick sweet cherry topped with melted chocolate. The chocolate hardens over the cold smoothie bowl and then you crack it open to reveal the smoothie underneath!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen cherries
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 1 tablespoon cashew or almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (only if it needs it)

Magic Chocolate Shell

  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Topping

  • 1 tablespoon chopped nuts -optional

Instructions

  • Add all smoothie bowl ingredients to a blender.
    Keep blending until smooth and creamy and no frozen fruit chunks are left.
    Taste test and add honey if needed.
    Scoop into a bowl and smooth out the top.
     

Magic Shell Topping

  • Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in small dish and microwave at 50% power with 10 second bursts stirring between each one until melted and smooth.
    Or use double boiler method - (pot of boiling water with a bowl resting on top) melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together.
    Once melted, pour the chocolate over the smoothie bowl and swirl it around so it makes an even layer.
    Freeze the smoothie bowl for 5 to 10 minutes, until the chocolate has solidified. Top with nuts (if using) and crack it open with a spoon.
    Top Tip:
    Melt chocolate before you make the smoothie. That way, your chocolate can be quickly poured over the smoothie bowl and you won't have much melting going on.
